Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
I hope you all had a great one.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to dress up in a costume this year because I was back home with my family (which was really nice) and there were no Halloween parties to attend there. It also doesn't help that it landed on a Monday this year either!
So, in order to have some Halloween spirit today, I went with the orange and black colors.
The vintage dress is from a cool shop in Reno called Junkee, the purse is a hand-me-down from my mom, and the shoes are Classiques Entier, I love the little kitten heel and the bows on the toe.

In case you were wondering, this is what I look link as a zombie/smurf thing.

Sun Feels Good

I love this wall!
These photos are actually a day old; yesterday I was so busy trying to get all my stuff organized and ready for my flight home this for the weekend and that I didn't have time to post them.
I took off this cozy, black circle scarf that I was wearing and, because of my scatterbrain yesterday,  forgot to but it back on when I went to take these photos. Oh well I guess you'll just have to use your imagination to imagine how the black scarf really topped off the outfit.
The thermal is from the Gap, jacket is from Free People, the belt is thrifted, vintage Guess shorts are from a garage sale, and the rocket dog shoes are from a garage sale as well.
Anyways, I'm glad to be home for the weekend... my mom and I are going to hit up a few shops in Vegas and hopefully stop by the Gypsy Den!

Fall Thief

Another chilly day... starting to feel the Fall weather. Today I wore a vintage hat from a garage sale, vintage sweater from a thrift store, leggings from h&m, boots from Steve Madden, and a purse on sale from UO. Oh yeah and the cute little pumpkin I bought today for my room!

Disc-o

Burr today was colder than I expected! Zac and I chose to take my 'what I wore' photos in the warmth of the indoors. Today I wore a cozy vintage sweater from a thrift store in Wisconsin, an awesome skirt from the A to Zen thrift store in Carson City which you can also see in a later post here in Seafoam Queen. I wore moccasins from minnetonka and a cool shiny gold belt from a garage sale this weekend of which I totally scored on some amazing vintage clothes... I will share later!
PS if you're wondering about my amazing throne... read about it here.

Lone Wolf

Sweet graffiti, right?
Today I wore a gold shawl from a thrift store, a Threads for Thought tee from TJ Maxx, J Crew corduroys from a resale shop, and vintage boots for $1 at the same thrift store I bought my awesome throne at which I shared a photo of in my bottles post.

What They Wore

This is a photo of the outfits I styled for my aunt and her business partner, Stacy, for their new store called Bloom. I helped them pick out some clothes from their own closets that I thought would work well then added some of my own pieces such as the vintage furs, veils, shoes, and jewelry. They ended up using this photo as the pricing tags for their merchandise as well as a nice photo to hang in the store. It was really fun to style and definitely something I consider to be my dream job.
Check out their awesome website here.

Bottles

Sorry for the kinda crappy photo quality on these... the building with these bottles on it, of which i've been dreaming of taking photos with, finally had their barbed wire gates open yesterday and I didn't have my camera in my purse (a very rare moment for me) so we made do with my camera's phone which wasn't half bad but man, I hope I can get in there some other time with my better camera!
Secondly, before I get into what I'm wearing, check out this amazing chair throne I bought for $20... I couldn't believe it. Yes, I do live in the dorms and have no place to put it just like my velvet covered, eight chair, 1970s dining room set I have stored in my basement back home but I'll have to squeeze it in Zac's place for the time being.
Now on to what I'm wearing... I bought the jacket at plato's closet which isn't really my favorite place but I'm glad I kept digging to find this one still with its original tags on it. The shirt is from the Savers thrift store in Vegas and the vintage suede skirt is also from a Savers but this one is from the one in Reno. And my frequently worn shoes are from the Gap.

cat lady

Isn't this fence soo rad? I figured I should probably take my 'what I wore' by it today to share its coolness with the world. I love watching peoples reactions to some of the things I wear around campus. And the looks my cat shirt today were pretty entertaining.
Today's weather was so perfect so I decided to wear my Forever 21 shorts before it gets too freezing. I got the leopard belt from a thrift store.
The cat shirt is from one of those tacky tourist t-shirt shops where you can get things custom made... I spotted the cat and couldn't resist. Ooo and I love how these shoes sparkle! The label is Rock & Candy and I picked them up for $20 at DSW.

swingin'

These shoes are killer... literally. When I slipped them on today they felt surprisingly comfortable but the moment I started walking I found out why they were sitting like-new on the shelves of the thrift store I purchased them at a couple days ago. The rest of the outfit was really quite comfortable: a vintage crochet top given to my by my Aunt draped over an H&M dress and topped off with a light purple head scarf to give the look a bit of a 60s feel.

The Messenger

Today my outfit consisted of a shirt and shoes from H&M, a vintage scarf, a vintage skirt found at a thrift store in Wisconsin, and my new bag I just purchased online through UO's sale.
P.S.
I took a little trip to a Saver's thrift store with some friends today and found some awesome pieces (which will be worn soon) and which have me craving to go thrifting this weekend...

a gift from Liv

Today I'd like to share with you a gift my little cousin, Olivia, sent me. Isn't this so cute? It even came with a lucky penny. Livy is and has always been so creative. This is my cousin who decides she wants to buy fruits and vegetables from the Farmer's Market and make edible jewelry out of it with all of her friends for her birthday party. She makes the best presents, birthday cards, collages, and other fun stuff. She also dresses herself with such a fun, eclectic kind of style.
Oh, and did I mention she's only ten?
This is a photo of a few of the sticks Livy and I collected in the woods and painted this Summer.

Working Class Hero

Hey-o, I apologize for the lack of posting... I've been so busy with school that by the time I'm free to actually take photos, it's too dark or I've got no one to take them!
That said, today's post is actually of an outfit I got photos taken of way back in the beginning of September.
I found this cute dress at the first thrift store I went to after moving to Reno which gave me great hope for the future thrift store visits to come!
The dress was actually about a foot longer than it is now and, me being annoyed by the awkward length, I ended up cutting it with kitchen shears one night.
The shoes are from The Gap.
