Bonnaroo

The Bonnaroo arch
Blowin' Bubbles
Devon & I eating delicious freshly baked Amish Doughnuts
Sarah Barthel of Phantogram....I love her.
H & M sheer shirt- I think it was $5 on sale
Super old converse
A Ralph Lauren backpack I got at a thrift store for like $15
& galaxy shorts pictured in more detail below
Thom Yorke... a name that needs no introduction.
Hand-painted galaxy shorts from The Gypsy Den. I'm in love.
 We spotted Reggie Watts on the ferris wheel just before we went to his set in the Comedy Tent. Hilarious dude.
The last night at Bonnaroo & it was raining. I'm wearing a thrifted dress, my go-to spiked necklace from The Gypsy Den, and a sweater from The Gap's sale.
So basically Bonnaroo was/is awesome. We scored on some unusually cool weather for the fest this year and we were not complaining. This was my first year attending and it was amazing. And even though I did go to a festival that was hundreds of miles away from home, I still managed to stay true to my thrifty-ness. Instead of paying for a $300 four day pass plus camping and $240 travel expenses, we decided to volunteer at the fest through the Work Exchange Team (WET) which covered our full ticket, camping, and three $8 meal tokens to use at the festival vendors... it was a really great deal.

 Anyways, I hope you enjoyed some of these photos I managed to take. Below is link to a video compilation of some of the acts I saw over the weekend... enjoy!
Click here for the video!
PS.
These are the shows I made it to:
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Phantogram, The Beach Boys, Aziz Ansari, Reggie Watts, Phish, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Roots, The Devil Makes Three, The Cave Singers, Alice Cooper, fun., and Ludacris.

DIY Flower Purse

I've been meaning to post these beautiful photos of this floral vintage purse DIY for quite some time now but it's been on the back-burner as I've been so busy. That said here is a very simple DIY for an adorable little purse (similar to the one I wore in this post) that will get you hundreds of complements.
What You'll Need:
a cloth covered purse from a thrift store, garage sale, grandma's closet, etc. (vintage or not)
faux flowers (with leaves) of your choice...I used peonies
A hot glue gun
scissors
a Popsicle stick or something to push down the flowers into the scorching hot glue

***Thrifty Tip: If you plan on buying your flowers at Joann's or Hobby Lobby, don't forget to print off the 40% off coupon that they always have posted on their sites.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Step 1: Cut off your favorite flowers and leaves from their stems. Then, before you start glueing, lay out an estimate of where you would like to place your flowers... this is an important step!
 Step 2: After you have gotten a good idea of where your flowers will be set, start glueing down your leaves then top it off with the beautiful flowers.
*Don't forget how hot that glue is and use a Popsicle stick or something similar to push down the leaves and flowers into the glue.
 And after those simple steps, there you have it, you're finished product!
Enjoy!
Bubble Pop Electric
Sunny & I went roller skating by the river today with our thrifty little skates... she just picked her's up at the Salvation Army a couple days ago and I've had my skates that a friend found for me for a couple years. Us two are not the most talented skaters so it was quite an experience. We got all kinds of looks and cleaver remarks from people all along the river.
My outfit today reminds me of something "Baby" would wear in Dirty Dancing.
It consists of a crop top from forever21, vintage levi's I just recently picked up at Salvation Army for $4, my vintage skates, and a thrifted Ralph Lauren backpack (not pictured).
Sunny's shorts are thrifted.  She cut them into shorts and embellished them with "Rock" and "Star" on each cheek from the clippings of a thrifted t-shirt.
xoo
Sorry for the badly written post, I've gotta pack up the last of my things before my parents arrive to pick me up!
Charcoal
Today has been a bit chillier compared to the last few days but I took advantage of it, went on a run, and now I'm wearing a 3/4 length sleeve that I wont be wearing during any of these upcoming 100 degree summer days... sheesh.
My thrifty-ness isn't just about shopping at thrift stores... it's about, well, being thrifty and shopping sales or holding on to items I love, for example. <-- this is just something to keep in mind while scrolling on through my blog. xo
The shirt is from an Urban Outfitters sale a year or two ago, I believe I paid $10, the shorts are vintage Lucky Brand that I got at a thrift store about 4 or 5 years ago... damn. The super long zipper even reads "Lucky You". The shoes I bought at Target is also an item that has stuck with me for a number of years. The beaded vintage handbag is one that I picked up recently at a thrift store for $4. The spike necklace has been blogged about before but incase you're wondering, I bought it at the Gypsy Den.
A vintage thrifted floral maxi dress- $15 (I think)
& Born Crown Boots from Marshalls- $100
*these photos were taken on campus... isn't it the best?
Spice Girl
I could not pass up these Jeffrey Campbell shoes when I came across them on Nasty Gal's site... SO much Spice Girl nostalgia. I have wanted shoes like these since I was like 6-- dream fulfilled (finally).
I love that the 90s are making a comeback in fashion... so on yet another occasion in which I was procrastinating my homework, I came across this crop top on Nasty Gal *click* added to shopping cart.
The Juicy Couture Shades are from Off Saks Fifth Avenue.
The velvet skirt I just recently picked up at Goodwill for somewhere around $5 I believe.
Oh yeah and the Jeffrey Campbells are paired with socks on sale from Urban Outfitters I bought a couple of years ago.
 It's a beautiful day so i'm doing homework on a futon in Zac's backyard that we picked up for $20 on cragslist... cheers!
This is what his new and improved backyard looks like.
Not too shabby, right?
Per-suede-ed
Yoo.
It's been a while.
Today was a happy day for be due to this beautiful weather!
I checked out the 15-day forecast (a daily routine for me) and the weather is looking so swell... I can't wait to let my legs feel the sunshine again!
Today I wore a vintage jean jacket I bought at a thrift store in Wisconsin a few years ago, a vintage owl necklace also thrifted a few years back, a newly acquired vintage suede skirt from a thrift store for 8 bucks, and some white leather chucks given to me by a friend who they didn't fit.
Here are a few photos from this week:
My first pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes- so Spice Girl.
Sunny & I made a double batch of banana nut muffins and loafs with all the banana's I have had stored in Zac's freezer for quite some time with the intention of baking tasty bread like this...so delish.
Sunny & I also dyed easter eggs about a week or two late haha.
