English Rose Garden

How beautiful is my mom's rose garden? Right now is the most fruitful I have ever seen it. There must be 100 roses in there!
Today I'm wearing a very thrifty outfit:
The very Jimi Hendrix-esque velvet blazer is a hand-me-down from my mom,
I bought the white blouse at a Catholic Charities thrift store in Vegas,
The wonderful vintage pants were given to me by my awesome vintage-collecting aunt,
And I just picked up these chelsea boots for $10 and elephant purse for $2 at Savers in Vegas.
Ciao!

Sailing Home

I went out on the lake with my dad, brother, and Jeepers this afternoon. A peaceful little boat ride was just what I needed after working all weekend, having taken two exams today & one exam coming up on Wednesday.
After my brother asked if I wanted to go on the lake with him & my dad, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to wear this nautical vintage shirt I bought for $3 at a Garage Sale in Santa Monica last September. The vintage shorts aren't shown in much detail in this post but they too have a bit of a nautical feel to them... see them in more detail in this post. I bought the shorts at a thrift store about a year ago for somewhere around $6 I believe. My mom bought the black flats for me brand new from a Garage Sale. My aunt gave me the adorable little parasol & the vintage scarf was my grandma's.

A calming playlist for Mixtape Monday is definitely in the works in the next hour so stay posted.

Cal Mar

I wore this on the first day of my Labor Day weekend spent in Santa Monica. These photos were taken at an adorable 1950s hotel called the Cal Mar that my family has vacationed at with our good friends for years. I can definitely see myself living in the beautiful city of Santa Monica one day.
I'm wearing a vintage necklace bought at a thrift store a ways back, a dress I got from my grandma's closet, and my new Topshop boots.

This photo montage pretty much sums up my week: lots of fluffy animals, indulging in delicious food at home (i.e.:Toblerone chocolate), beautiful weather, acoustic guitar listening, and, of course, driving my Bug!
Life is so easy when you've got no responsibilities. This wont last as long as I'd wish, however. I'm back to school in a couple weeks. *sigh*

Doughnuts

Zac and I finally stopped by Jelly Donut today, I was so happy! We shared a dozen and my half mainly consisted of my favorites of course, white frosting ones with colorful sprinkles. Mmmm.

To make up for the lack of warm clothing on the rest of my body, today I wore this super warm hat vintage from an antique mall. The sweater is from H&M and is a really unusual one... I included a detail shot of the back of the sweater as it has buttons straight down the back. My aunt gave me the vintage cheerleading skirt this summer for doing some modeling for her etsy account which i've mentioned before and still need to get around to doing a post of the awesome photos that came about. I purchased the shoes from Urban Outfitters quite a while ago. You can see them here in the post Sgt. Karina.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
I hope you all had a great one.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to dress up in a costume this year because I was back home with my family (which was really nice) and there were no Halloween parties to attend there. It also doesn't help that it landed on a Monday this year either!
So, in order to have some Halloween spirit today, I went with the orange and black colors.
The vintage dress is from a cool shop in Reno called Junkee, the purse is a hand-me-down from my mom, and the shoes are Classiques Entier, I love the little kitten heel and the bows on the toe.

In case you were wondering, this is what I look link as a zombie/smurf thing.

swingin'

These shoes are killer... literally. When I slipped them on today they felt surprisingly comfortable but the moment I started walking I found out why they were sitting like-new on the shelves of the thrift store I purchased them at a couple days ago. The rest of the outfit was really quite comfortable: a vintage crochet top given to my by my Aunt draped over an H&M dress and topped off with a light purple head scarf to give the look a bit of a 60s feel.

The Pants

Well, hello there. It's been quite some time since I've posted. I have been super busy with school work... oh man. Today I decided to wear this wild vintage pants that my Aunt gave to me this summer after doing some modeling for her etsy account. You can check out her store here. Anyways, it was quite entertaining to walk around campus today and watch everyone's eyes dart straight down to my pants. Especially the super 'hip' girls who would look at me like "uhm, those aren't true religion jeans." The rest of the outfit consists of a shirt from The Gap with cute little scalloped edges at the buttons and a pair of flats I got on sale at The Gap as well.
I've got lot's of reading to do... au revoir!

moving up & out

Chinatown!
I'm wearing a thrifted vintage dress, garage sale sweater, hand me down purse from my mom, and shoes from TJ Maxx.
P.S. I picked up an adorable silk robe and a pillow that looks like a piece of sushi here.
San Francisco
This is a photo of supposedly the most crooked street in the world, Lombard Street.
Here i'm wearing a shirt from a garage sale and a garage sale cardigan as well.
Jeepers was frolicking on the beach.
Northern California vineyards
I would love to introduce you to one of my favorite, most comfortable dress I own.
I picked up this Free People dress about four years ago at a Nordstrom's Rack and have gotten so much use out of it.
The purse is yet another hand-me-down from my momma.
This post is a photo diary of my week's adventures with my family in Northern California before they dropped me off at college.
Thanks for viewing!
