Sailing Home

 I went out on the lake with my dad, brother, and Jeepers this afternoon. A peaceful little boat ride was just what I needed after working all weekend, having taken two exams today & one exam coming up on Wednesday.
After my brother asked if I wanted to go on the lake with him & my dad, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to wear this nautical vintage shirt I bought for $3 at a Garage Sale in Santa Monica last September. The vintage shorts aren't shown in much detail in this post but they too have a bit of a nautical feel to them... see them in more detail in this post. I bought the shorts at a thrift store about a year ago for somewhere around $6 I believe. My mom bought the black flats for me brand new from a Garage Sale. My aunt gave me the adorable little parasol & the vintage scarf was my grandma's.

A calming playlist for Mixtape Monday is definitely in the works in the next hour so stay posted.

Frenchie

I think if the temperature were about 4 degrees hotter today, then I could say that I jumped the gun on the cold weather attire. But luckily, today provided the perfect weather for an ensemble like this. I think the parisian look is one of my favorites. I feel that this might be true to many of us American girls; I mean, come one, who doesn't dream to be as adorable & stylish as those parisian ladies?
Vintage beaded sweater/shirt (I think it's supposed to be worn as a shirt but I like it better backwards): $5 at a thrift store
Pants: BDG from Urban Outfitters
Vintage handbag: Vintage from Savers $10
Shoes: A splurge at Topshop
Belt: Free from one of those Cabi parties my mom hosted at our house a ways back
Round Black Shades: Ebay $6
Black Beret: The Milwaukee Art Museum for $10 I think

Neglected Photos

Today I was skimming though all the files on my computer from the last year--you know, organizing, deleting, & backing them up to my hard drive. It's something that I find almost therapeutic. With my horrible memory, I love looking back on my photos to refresh my mind of all the good times. Anyways,  while I was looking through all these photos, I came across a bunch of thrifted outfit photos that I never posted on my blog! So here they are, the neglected photos from the months of December, January, February, and March.

Rain in the Desert

 wind...

::Photos by my Brother::
Today's been one of those super awesome rainy days. The rain is just now clearing up but for us desert rats, a rainy morning and afternoon is a rare gem.
I'm wearing a sheer vintage cover up with a dress that I wore to my sister's 16th Birthday (who is now 21), rain boots from Target, and some grooovy shades from a thrift store.
